Keeping the troops happy

Keeping the troops happy is one of the biggest challenges faced by a Franchisor. Many ingredients go into a happy team, including:

• choosing the right franchisees in the first place providing the level of support that has been promised ensuring the Franchisees are making a profit
• Keeping in regular touch with the franchisees
• Continuing to grow the network
• Ongoing product development
• A good level of marketing support
• Prompt response to franchisee issues

However even if the Franchisor has done everything correctly in their view, issues will arise that need to be discussed frankly and resolved.

At these times it often pays to have an unbiased third party to help resolve the issues. A good honest round table discussion is a great place to start. However when the emotions start to flow the assistance of a mediator is often required.
